Give yourself a 45-minute runway

Clear a six-foot table, arrange seven player spots and one dealer seat, then set the chip bank before anyone arrives. Keep food and drinks on a separate surface.

Start every guest with the same bank

Equal starting stacks keep the game social. Use simple chip values and a minimum bet that allows at least 15–20 hands before a guest runs out.

Teach only the decisions they need

Explain hit, stand, double and blackjack. Walk through one open practice hand, then let the first round move slowly. A dealer cheat sheet beats a long rules speech.

Rotate instead of crowding the table

For 8–12 guests, swap seats every 20–30 minutes or after a fixed number of hands. Spectators can advise a team, keep score or take a turn dealing.

End with a clear finish line

Announce “three hands left,” count the play-money totals and award low-stakes prizes. Never allow chips or fictional money to be redeemed for cash.
